These Last thoughts on the National Day of Prayer are not mine although I do wish to echo them here. They are from Peggy Gustave of The Presidential Prayer Teamâ„¢. Micah 2:1
Times square, New York City, was the intended center of a premeditated bombing by a man trained in the camps of radicals. That his plan was thwarted was due, in large part, to observing by-standers, one of whom said, “If you see something, say something.”
A person’s thoughts reveal his character. Take inventory of your last thoughts of the day. Surely, you aren’t planning on something so dire as planting a car bomb in the center of a great city; but perhaps you are thinking of a way to speak back to an employer who may have wronged you. Maybe your thoughts at the end of the day include a way to make more money on a sale than might be equitable. If greed, revenge or stepping on others are a part of your day’s end thoughts, they can easily be part of the following morning’s deed.
Instead, focus your last thoughts of the day on the blessings you have received, and on the way in which you are going to exemplify Christ in your life tomorrow. Pray for your intents to be true and your heart to be pure. And pray for the president and our leaders in government to seek purity of heart, so that their deeds tomorrow will not be a reason for the Lord to say, “Woe.”
