REDUX

I just keep expecting to hear Rhys’ voice as he comes dashing in the door with a Rockstar in his hand: “Mom, can you…”

Can we ever answer their questions again? Can we ever be the same again?

The answer of course, is no. Nothing will ever be the same for us since the loss of our heroes. But here is where God’s message is perfectly clear. We are daily re-made, inching ever closer to the creation that the Father desires us to be. We are the work of His hand.

“O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are, the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

Have you ever tried to make a clay pot? Some of us are artists (me excluded of course), and some are not. But I am quite sure everyone at some point in their elementary school career or at summer camp had to extend their creative spirit to “mastering” the art of clay pottery. Sadly, most of us were dismally unsuccessful. But here is the Good News! God is the master potter and He is vastly more successful at this than anyone can imagine! He is the very first potter and the very last potter.

As we tried to shape a lump of clay into something our mothers would (with that knowing twinkle in their eyes) cheerfully say was the most creative thing they had ever seen, we pounded, shaped, squashed, and reshaped our incorrigible little lump. And when we finished, we loved that unidentifiable little mass.

God’s hand is much the same. He sees us for what we are, but also what we can become. We’re incorrigible, we get bent out of shape, and sometimes we collapse into a heap. But the master potter, our Father, sees what we can become in His hand. So He reshapes, He adds living water when we get dried out, and He patiently makes a new creation each day. His hand can restore us as many times as necessary to complete the work and make us pleasing in His eyes.

You can trust daily, despite setbacks, grief, or anger, that “behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand.” Jeremiah 18:6.

Let Him have a “do-over” in your life. While we will always settle for less, God’s goal is perfection!

Bible Verse of the day February 5th, 2012

~ Verse of the Day ~

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

    -- 1 Corinthians 10:12,13

Time for Reflection and Prayer for Guidance

December 25, 2009 @ 1:53 PM

So today I have recommitted myself and exhort you also to make an example of yourself by doing “the right thing” in all things. It’s pretty simple actually, if we do His will, he is free to fight our battles, but if we don’t, and we refuse to repent of our sin and except His Grace, can we honestly expect the Creator’s intercession on our behalf, in personal, civil or political matters?

Conflict Of Good & Evil

November 28, 2009 @ 11:02 AM

God is a God of grace and it says in 2 Peter 3:9 that “He is not willing that any one perish but that all will come to repentance.” Yes he loves all of us, Christians, Muslims, and Jews, not one more than the other, but His grace can be refused by our rebellious will. It will break his heart but when the time comes he will judge and punish us accordingly!

Trusting the Plan

October 10, 2009 @ 2:15 PM

When life is hard, when life hands us sorrows and disappointments, when life doesn’t go according to our plan, when we feel the heavy burden of our utter lack of understanding, we must trust. We must trust passionately and completely, knowing that He that is in us is greater than the world around us.

Ukraine’s Got Talent

This is absolutely a powerful video. It is worth taking a few minutes to watch when you are not rushed.

Missing Boaters Found

September 07, 2009 @ 9:30 AM

“We tried flagging’ everybody we could, but I guess it was not our time to go home yet. They’d come straight at us, we’d be like ‘Hey,’ and there they’d go,” Hall told KHOU. “I was like, well, you know the good man above, either he’s teaching us a lesson or showing us something. And finally, when that boat came, it was just … I don’t know.”
“It was a miracle,” Phillips said, finishing Hall’s sentence.

Little Miracles

September 02, 2009 @ 12:17 PM

I don’t mean to say God doesn’t hear us, the bible tells us that he most certainly does listen to our prayers, he just doesn’t audibly speak to us. Most of us are so out of touch with our inner voice that we couldn’t hear his voice even if he did speak directly to us and our eyes are so clouded with the things of this world that seeing the miracles he does every day is nearly impossible.
